Install in a minute
- Download the zip. Leave it zipped.
- In WordPress, go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin. Choose the zip and click Install Now.
- Activate it. Logging starts straight away; there is nothing to set up.
- Open Tools → AI Crawl Report. Bots show up as they visit, so give it a day or two before you judge the numbers.
What it needs
- WordPress
- 6.4 or newer
- PHP
- 7.4 or newer
- Database
- One table of its own, pruned daily
- Outbound requests
- Only the bots' published IP lists, once a day
- Page caches
- Cached pages don't reach WordPress, so they aren't counted
- Licence
- GPL-2.0-or-later
What's in 1.0.0
- Logs crawl requests from 27 AI bots, including GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, Amazonbot, Bytespider and CCBot.
- Checks each hit against the IP lists OpenAI, Anthropic, Perplexity, Amazon, Common Crawl, Mistral and DuckDuckGo publish, and marks the rest claimed.
- Logs visits referred by ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot, Claude, Le Chat, Meta AI, DeepSeek, Grok, Duck.ai, You.com, Phind, by referrer or utm_source.
- Shows crawl requests next to referred visits for every bot, and top pages crawled next to top pages visited.
- Suggests allow, consider blocking or your call for each bot, with the reason.
- Optional robots.txt rules, and an optional RSL /license.xml. Both off by default.
